Volunteering

Volunteering is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

1- Attend training, 2- Volunteer, 3- Log Hours

1.     All volunteers must be trained.  We have two events right at the beginning of school to make this fast and easy.  If you were trained last year you MUST be trained again this and each year you want to volunteer.  If you have not yet been trained for this school year, contact the office and they will set up a private training session.

2.      Volunteer.  The fun part.  Help out at lunch, join or lead a committee (we have lots of openings), or simply help make copies.  There are lots of was to help. Just ask us and we’ll put you to work.

3.      Log Hours. Sparks gets graded on its total number of volunteer hours – it’s not about personal achievement but it's all about helping Sparks. You can email Susan at sparks.volunteer@gmail.com, enter them online at www.sparkspta.org, or send a paper in your child's blue folder and we'll take care of it for you. – PLEASE – try to estimate the number of hours you spend outside of school!! We’d like to count each of the 300+ people that are trained each year .

BCPS requires all volunteers to complete volunteer training. If you have not been trained for the 2010-2011 school year and you plan on volunteering, please contact us at volunteer@sparkspta.org.
